This Natural and Effective Remedy for Relieving Constipation
Detail
One of the simplest natural approaches to constipation is increasing fiber gradually while drinking enough water. A particularly useful food is prunes (dried plums).
1. Prunes
Prunes contain fiber and sorbitol, a naturally occurring sugar alcohol that can draw water into the bowel and help make stools easier to pass.
A practical starting point is 4–6 prunes daily, along with adequate fluids.
2. Kiwi
Kiwi provides fiber and may help improve bowel regularity. One or two kiwis a day can be an easy addition to breakfast.
3. Chia Seeds
Chia seeds are rich in fiber. Mix 1 tablespoon into yogurt, oatmeal, or a drink, and make sure you consume adequate fluid.
4. Warm Fluids
A warm drink in the morning can sometimes stimulate the urge to have a bowel movement, especially when combined with a regular bathroom routine.
5. Gentle Movement
Walking and other regular physical activity can help support normal bowel function.
A Simple Routine
Morning: Drink a glass of water → eat a fiber-rich breakfast → take a short walk → give yourself time to use the bathroom without straining.
Important
Increase fiber gradually. Suddenly consuming large amounts can cause bloating and gas.
If constipation is severe, persistent, or accompanied by blood in the stool, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, severe abdominal pain, fever, or inability to pass gas, seek medical attention rather than relying on a home remedy.
