Refreshing Lemon Water

Ingredients
-
1 glass (8–12 oz / 240–350 ml) cold or warm water
-
½ fresh lemon
-
Ice cubes, optional
-
Fresh mint, optional
-
A few cucumber slices, optional
-
1 teaspoon honey, optional
Method
-
Squeeze the lemon into a glass of water.
-
Stir well.
-
Add ice, mint, or cucumber if desired.
-
Drink immediately.
Benefits
-
Helps with hydration: The main benefit comes from the water itself.
-
Provides vitamin C: Lemon contributes a modest amount of vitamin C.
-
May support digestion: Some people find a warm lemon drink comfortable after meals, although it isn’t a proven “detox.”
-
Low in calories: Plain lemon water is essentially a low-calorie beverage when no sugar is added.
A Few Things to Know
Lemon water doesn’t magically burn fat, cleanse the liver, or cure disease. Also, frequent exposure to acidic drinks can contribute to tooth-enamel erosion. Drinking it with meals or through a straw and rinsing your mouth with plain water afterward can reduce prolonged acid exposure.
Best simple version: cold water + fresh lemon + ice + a few mint leaves. 🍋
