3-Ingredient Lemon Crumb Bars 🍋

Bright, buttery, and wonderfully simple—these bars need only three ingredients and no complicated preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (about 15–18 oz / 425–510 g) lemon cake mix

  • ½ cup (115 g) butter, melted

  • 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. Make the crumb mixture: Combine the lemon cake mix with the melted butter until you have a crumbly dough.

  3. Form the base: Press about two-thirds of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.

  4. Add the filling: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.

  5. Top with crumbs: Crumble the remaining dough mixture over the condensed milk.

  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and the edges are set.

  7. Cool completely before cutting. For especially clean slices, refrigerate for about 1 hour first.

🍋 Easy upgrade

If you don’t mind making it 4 ingredients, add 1–2 teaspoons of fresh lemon zest to the crumb mixture. It gives the bars a much brighter lemon flavor.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
