Homemade Chocolate Frosty

Homemade Chocolate Frosty

This Homemade Chocolate Frosty is thick, creamy, cold, and intensely chocolatey. It has that classic soft-serve milkshake texture but is incredibly easy to make at home.Servings: 2 large or 3 small
Prep time: 5 minutes
Freeze time: 1–2 hours
Total time: About 1½ hours

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate ice cream
  • 1 cup whole milk, very cold
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Maraschino cherries

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Chill your ingredients

For the thickest Frosty, make sure the ice cream and milk are very cold.

You can also place your blender jar in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before making the drink.

2. Blend

Add the chocolate ice cream, cold milk, condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt to a blender.

Blend on low speed for 15–20 seconds.

Then increase to medium speed and blend just until smooth and creamy.

Don’t over-blend. Too much blending can make the Frosty thinner.

3. Check the consistency

The mixture should be very thick but still spoonable.

If it’s too thick to blend, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time.

If it’s too thin, add another scoop of chocolate ice cream.

4. Chill for an extra-thick Frosty

Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container.

Freeze for approximately 30–60 minutes, stirring once halfway through.

This gives it a thicker, more authentic Frosty-like consistency.

If you want it immediately, you can serve it straight from the blender.

5. Serve

Spoon into chilled glasses or cups.

Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or chocolate shavings.

Serve immediately with a spoon or thick straw.

⭐ Tips for the Perfect Chocolate Frosty

Use full-fat ice cream. It gives you the richest and creamiest texture.

Don’t add too much milk. Start with less—you can always add more.

Cocoa powder intensifies the chocolate flavor. Even though you’re already using chocolate ice cream, that extra cocoa makes the flavor much richer.

A tiny pinch of salt matters. It balances the sweetness and enhances the chocolate.

For a spoonable Frosty: Freeze the blended mixture for about 45 minutes and stir before serving.
