Chocolate Covered Brownie Bars

These rich brownie bars have a fudgy chocolate center and a smooth chocolate coating—perfect for a simple homemade dessert.
Ingredients
For the brownies:

½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder

¾ cup (95 g) all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup chocolate chips
For the chocolate coating:

1½ cups (255 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter
Method

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

Whisk melted butter and sugar together.

Add the eggs and vanilla and whisk until smooth.

Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt just until combined. Don’t overmix.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.

Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the center is set but still slightly fudgy.

Let the brownies cool completely before cutting.

Melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil or butter, stirring until smooth.

Dip or spread the chocolate over each brownie bar.

Refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until the coating is firm.
Tip
For especially clean, bakery-style bars, chill the brownies before cutting them. Use a warm, dry knife and wipe it between cuts.
Optional Toppings
Add chopped walnuts, almonds, shredded coconut, sea salt, crushed cookies, or colorful sprinkles before the chocolate coating sets.
