Peace lilies are relatively easy to care for, but there is no single ingredient that can guarantee flowers for 10 years in a row. Long-lasting flowering depends on light, watering, temperature, nutrients, and the overall health of the plant.
The Simple Ingredient: Compost
A small amount of well-finished compost can provide organic matter and gentle nutrients that support healthy soil.
Mix about 1 tablespoon of finished compost into 1 liter of water, allow it to sit for several hours, and strain the liquid. Use a modest amount around the soil rather than soaking the plant.
What Really Helps a Peace Lily Bloom
Bright, indirect light: Peace lilies need sufficient light to produce flowers, but intense direct sunlight can scorch their leaves.
Consistent watering: Keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid leaving the roots sitting in water. Allow excess water to drain away.
