A light, creamy, cloud-like dessert made with vanilla, cream cheese, whipped cream, and a buttery cookie crumb. It’s simple, no-bake, and wonderfully customizable with berries, chocolate, or caramel.Servings: 8
Prep time: 20 minutes
Chill time: 2 hours
Total time: About 2½ hours

Ingredients

Creamy whipped filling

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold heavy whipping cream
  • ½ cup (120 g) sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Pinch of salt

Cookie crumb layer

  • 1½ cups (150 g) crushed graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or shortbread cookies
  • 5 tablespoons (70 g) melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Optional toppings

  • Fresh strawberries or blueberries
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Caramel sauce
  • Crushed cookies
  • Toasted pecans
  • Whipped cream
  • Powdered sugar

1. Make the cookie crumbs

Place the crushed cookies in a bowl.

Add melted butter, brown sugar, and salt.

Mix until the crumbs resemble wet sand.

Reserve about ¼ cup for topping.

2. Prepare the cream cheese mixture

Place the softened cream cheese in a large bowl.

Beat for 2–3 minutes, until completely smooth.

Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, sour cream, and salt.

Beat again until creamy and fluffy.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

3. Whip the cream

Pour the cold heavy cream into a separate chilled bowl.

Beat until medium-stiff peaks form.

Don’t overbeat it.

The whipped cream should be fluffy and smooth.

4. Create the heavenly filling

Add about one-third of the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture.

Fold gently.

Add the remaining whipped cream in two additions.

Fold until the mixture is light, smooth, and airy.

Avoid vigorous stirring because you want to preserve the whipped texture.

5. Assemble the dessert

You can make this in one large dish or individual glasses.

For individual servings, layer:

  1. Cookie crumbs
  2. Creamy filling
  3. Fresh berries
  4. More filling
  5. Cookie crumbs

Repeat until the glasses are filled.

For a large dish, press about half of the cookie mixture into the bottom.

Spread the cream filling evenly over it.

Add berries or other toppings.

Finish with the remaining crumbs.

6. Chill

Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

For the best texture, refrigerate overnight.

The cookie crumbs soften slightly and become almost cake-like while the filling becomes thick and creamy.

7. Finish

Just before serving, add:

  • Fresh berries
  • Whipped cream
  • Cookie crumbs
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Caramel drizzle

A tiny dusting of powdered sugar makes a simple but beautiful finish.

Strawberry Heavenly Whip

Fold 1 cup finely chopped strawberries into half of the whipped filling.

Layer with whole strawberries and graham cracker crumbs.

For extra strawberry flavor, spoon a little strawberry jam between the layers.

Chocolate Heavenly Dessert

Add ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder to the cream cheese mixture.

Use chocolate sandwich cookies or chocolate graham crackers for the crumb layer.

Add chocolate chips or chocolate shavings between the layers.

Lemon Berry Version

Add another 1 tablespoon lemon zest and use fresh blueberries and raspberries between the layers.

The bright lemon flavor balances the creamy filling beautifully.

Caramel Pecan Version

Add:

  • ½ cup toasted chopped pecans
  • ½ cup caramel sauce

Layer the pecans and caramel between the cream filling.

Finish with caramel drizzle and a pinch of flaky salt.

Banana Cream Version

Layer the filling with thinly sliced bananas and vanilla wafer crumbs.

For an extra banana flavor, replace the lemon juice with ½ teaspoon banana extract.

Make It Lighter

For a lighter version, replace half the cream cheese with thick Greek yogurt.

Use reduced-fat cream cheese if desired.

The filling will be slightly tangier but still fluffy and creamy.

Make-Ahead

This dessert is excellent for entertaining because it can be prepared the day before.

Assemble and refrigerate overnight.

For the best presentation, add fresh fruit and crunchy toppings immediately before serving.

Storage

Keep covered and refrigerated.

Enjoy within 3 days.

If using fresh bananas, it’s best eaten within 24 hours because the banana slices will gradually brown.

The Secret to the “Heavenly” Texture

The key is to beat the cream cheese until completely smooth before folding in properly whipped cream.

Keep the heavy cream very cold, and fold it gently rather than stirring.

That creates the signature texture: silky cream cheese underneath, airy whipped cream throughout, and soft buttery cookie crumbs in every bite.
