Frozen Blueberry Yogurt Clusters

Prep time: 10 minutes
Freeze time: 2–3 hours
Total time: About 2 hours 10 minutes
Makes: 10–12 clusters

These frozen blueberry yogurt clusters are creamy, fruity, crunchy, and incredibly easy to make. Juicy blueberries are folded into thick Greek yogurt, spooned into bite-sized clusters, and finished with a crisp chocolate shell. They’re perfect for a refreshing snack or lighter frozen dessert.

Ingredients

Blueberry yogurt clusters

  • 2 cups (300 g) fresh blueberries
  • 1½ cups (340 g) thick Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp finely grated lemon zest
  • Pinch of salt

Chocolate topping

  • 6 oz (170 g) dark or semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Optional toppings

  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds or pistachios
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  • 1 tbsp freeze-dried blueberries, crushed
  • Flaky sea salt
  • White chocolate drizzle

Instructions

1. Prepare the blueberries

Wash the blueberries and dry them thoroughly.

Excess water can make the clusters icy, so pat them dry with paper towels.

Place them in a large bowl.

For more blueberry flavor, lightly crush about ¼ of the berries with a fork while leaving the rest whole.

2. Make the yogurt mixture

Add the Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt to the blueberries.

Gently fold everything together.

Don’t completely mash the blueberries—you want plenty of whole berries throughout the clusters.

3. Form the clusters

Line a baking sheet or large plate with parchment paper.

Spoon approximately 2–3 tablespoons of the blueberry-yogurt mixture onto the parchment for each cluster.

Keep the clusters relatively compact rather than spreading them too thin.

You should get approximately 10–12 clusters.

4. Freeze

Place the tray in the freezer.

Freeze for approximately 2 hours, or until the clusters are completely firm.

If your clusters are thick, they may need closer to 3 hours.

Add the Chocolate

5. Melt the chocolate

Place the chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.

Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring well after each interval.

Continue until completely smooth.

Alternatively, melt it gently over a double boiler.

6. Coat the clusters

Remove the frozen yogurt clusters from the freezer.

Dip the bottoms into the melted chocolate, or spoon chocolate over the top.

For a thin chocolate shell, use just enough to cover the surface.

Place them chocolate-side up on parchment.

7. Add toppings

Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with chopped nuts, crushed freeze-dried blueberries, coconut, or a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt.

8. Freeze again

Return the clusters to the freezer for another 15–20 minutes, until the chocolate is firm.

Blueberry Cheesecake Clusters

For a richer cheesecake-style version, replace ½ cup of the Greek yogurt with softened cream cheese.

Add:

  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp extra vanilla
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Mix until smooth before folding in the blueberries.

The result tastes much more like frozen blueberry cheesecake.

White Chocolate Blueberry Clusters

Use melted white chocolate instead of dark chocolate.

Add a little lemon zest to the chocolate coating for a bright flavor.

Finish with crushed freeze-dried blueberries.

Protein Blueberry Yogurt Clusters

For a higher-protein version, use high-protein Greek yogurt and mix in ½ scoop vanilla protein powder.

If the mixture becomes too thick, stir in 1–2 tablespoons of milk.

Peanut Butter Blueberry Clusters

Drizzle the frozen clusters with melted peanut butter before serving.

For extra crunch, sprinkle with chopped roasted peanuts.

The sweet-tart blueberries pair surprisingly well with peanut butter and dark chocolate.

Tips for the Best Clusters

Use thick yogurt

Greek yogurt works best because it contains less liquid and produces a creamier frozen texture.

Dry the blueberries

Wet berries add extra ice crystals.

Dry them thoroughly after washing.

Don’t make the clusters too thin

Very thin clusters freeze extremely hard.

A thicker, compact cluster gives you a creamier center.

Freeze before adding chocolate

The yogurt needs to be completely frozen so the chocolate sets immediately when it touches the surface.

Storage

Once fully frozen, transfer the clusters to an airtight freezer container or freezer bag.

Place parchment between layers if necessary.

They can be stored for approximately 1 month for the best texture.

Let them sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes before eating so the yogurt softens slightly.

Best Combination

For an especially delicious version, use thick vanilla Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries, lemon zest, and a dark chocolate shell, then finish with chopped pistachios and a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt. The cold creamy center and crisp chocolate coating make these a refreshing treat with plenty of texture.
