Slow Cooker Honey-Garlic Chicken Thighs
This is the kind of one-mixture, dump-and-go recipe that gives you tender, flavorful chicken with very little hands-on work.
Ingredients
-
6–8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
-
¼ cup honey
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
1 tablespoon ketchup
-
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
½ teaspoon dried oregano, optional
Instructions
-
Make the sauce: Whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil, ketchup, Dijon mustard, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
-
Add the chicken: Place the raw chicken thighs in the slow cooker.
-
Pour over the mixture: Make sure the chicken is coated as evenly as possible.
-
Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for about 4–5 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C.
-
Finish: Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken before serving.
Optional Thick Sauce
For a thicker glaze, transfer the cooking liquid to a saucepan after cooking and simmer it for several minutes until reduced. Don’t serve the cooking liquid without bringing it to a safe temperature first.
Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or steamed broccoli.
Tip: Chicken thighs are particularly forgiving in a slow cooker, so they stay tender even when cooked longer than lean chicken breast.
