3-Ingredient Lemon Crumb Bars 🍋
Bright, buttery, and wonderfully simple—these bars need only three ingredients and no complicated preparation.
Ingredients
-
1 box (about 15–18 oz / 425–510 g) lemon cake mix
-
½ cup (115 g) butter, melted
-
1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
-
Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper.
-
Make the crumb mixture: Combine the lemon cake mix with the melted butter until you have a crumbly dough.
-
Form the base: Press about two-thirds of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.
-
Add the filling: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crust.
-
Top with crumbs: Crumble the remaining dough mixture over the condensed milk.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and the edges are set.
-
Cool completely before cutting. For especially clean slices, refrigerate for about 1 hour first.
🍋 Easy upgrade
If you don’t mind making it 4 ingredients, add 1–2 teaspoons of fresh lemon zest to the crumb mixture. It gives the bars a much brighter lemon flavor.
