Southern 3-Ingredient Pineapple Cream Cheese Dip
This creamy pineapple cream cheese dip is sweet, tangy, and incredibly easy to make. With just three simple ingredients, it comes together in minutes and makes a great party appetizer, holiday snack, or quick spread for crackers.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, very well drained
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Soften the Cream Cheese
Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes, until soft enough to mix easily.
Place it in a mixing bowl and beat or stir until smooth and creamy.
2. Add the Pineapple
Drain the crushed pineapple extremely well. Too much pineapple juice can make the dip watery.
Add the pineapple to the softened cream cheese and mix until evenly combined.
3. Stir in the Pecans
Fold in the chopped pecans, reserving a small amount for sprinkling over the top if desired.
Mix just until everything is evenly distributed.
4. Chill and Serve
Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Chilling gives the cream cheese time to firm up and allows the pineapple flavor to blend throughout the dip.
Serve chilled with buttery crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, or fresh fruit.
Helpful Tips
- Drain the pineapple very thoroughly for a thick, creamy dip.
- Full-fat cream cheese gives the richest texture.
- For easier mixing, soften the cream cheese before starting.
- Toasting the pecans for a few minutes can add extra flavor, but this is optional.
- For a sweeter dip, you can add a little powdered sugar, although that would make it more than three ingredients.
Make Ahead
This dip can be prepared several hours ahead of time and kept covered in the refrigerator. Give it a quick stir before serving if needed.
Yield
Makes about 2 cups of dip, enough for approximately 8–10 servings depending on portion size.
